Sarah's Last Day

Today was Sarah's last day. She is (was) one of my kindergarteners. We took some pictures.

This is Anica, Toby, Lina, and Alex giving Sarah a Goodbye Hug. Julie did not participate. She was too busy telling me that she would miss Sarah, but she would not miss Heatherteacher.

Then Toby started crying.

Olympic Park, "Fortress," and Pit Huts

A few weeks ago, while my computer was down, we had a Saturday meeting for school. This meeting was FAR AWAY and so some of the other teachers and I decided to explore that area while we were down there. We started off in Olympic Park. It was pretty neat and there was a flame and lots of people roller blading. Right by, there is a building that looks like a glass cathedral.

Next we tracked down the "fortress."

Apparently fortress translates to big field in Korean. But thats okay. It was still beautiful.

Next we went to the Amsadong Prehistoric Settlement sites. There were pit huts and old ceramics. It was interesting. There were tons of manequins everywhere and you could make a print of a secret agent badge.

And who doesn't love a place where you can stick your face through a cardboard hole and take a really great picture?

Building 63 Aquarium!

Dore and I went to the aquarium, "Seaworld" at Building 63. We saw lots of amazing stuff and they had this Dr. Fish set up where you could put your finger tips in and the fish would eat the dead skin off of your hand! I couldn't get enough. We also saw a diver with a tutu and a tiara on. And an itchy otter. And lots of great fish that weren't going to end up as dinner, which was the point of going for me. It was nice.

This was the one of the last things I saw at the aquarium. I thought it was a beautiful octopus.
